Night Exhibit at the Center for Fine Art Photography

Somehow I forgot to post about some exciting news I received a few weeks ago. Two of my images were selected by juror Sean Corcoran for the upcoming Night Exhibit at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the opening reception but I hope if anyone is out that way, that you can take a moment to stop in. It's a very cool collection of work and I am so thrilled and honored to be a part of it.

Photo Noir Exhibit at the PhotoPlace Gallery

A big thank you to juror Aline Smithson for selecting two of my images for inclusion in the Photo Noir exhibit at the PhotoPlace Gallery. I love to create images using dramatic, cinematic lighting, so it is a true honor to have a those efforts recognized among a pool of very talented artists. Such a wonderful way to kick off the year!

L.A. Photo Curator - Cityscapes, 2nd Place

Also! A few weeks ago, I came across a call for entry for an online exhibit called Cityscapes - the gallery group was new to me, but I quickly learned that they contribute a portion of artist proceeds to charities of the first place winner and juror's choice. That alone made a submission feel worthwhile, so I was very excited to learn that my image was awarded 2nd place. As a longtime admirer of Henri Cartier-Bresson, it made my day to hear that my work evokes thoughts of his "Decisive Moment." I am truly honored.

PhotoPlace Gallery - Going Places Exhibition

I know there must be a limit on how many favorite images a person can have, but this one truly is among them. I am thrilled and honored to have had it selected for inclusion in the main gallery of the Going Places exhibit at the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, VT later this fall. This year, and this particular gallery, have been very kind to me. I can't overstate my appreciation.

A Good Day

As far as Mondays go, I'll take this one. I was already very excited to receive the press package for an exhibit I am hanging later this week - if you are in the area and have the chance to head up to lovely Rowayton, CT, please stop in! If you are free this Sunday, even better because not only will there be photography, but also wine, cheese...and me! And wine. And cheese.

Then, I checked my email and learned that a favorite image of mine was selected for the main gallery of the Black & White Exhibit at the Photoplace Gallery in Vermont. After a bit of a hiatus from juried shows, when I applied for this one last month, I came away simply feeling good about putting myself out there again. So to learn that I have been included has left me feeling rather over the moon. I am incredibly honored to have something of mine included among this diverse and beautiful body of work.

I found juror Tillman Crane's statement to be an interesting look at the thought process behind the technical and emotional aspects underlying photography as an art form, as well as the somewhat arbitrary nature of the juried process. It is not always easy to put yourself out in the world and his discussion about selection versus rejection resonated with me as being truthful and universal. Please take a look at the full set of images and see his statement in the link above.

H2O/Water Exhibition at The Center for Fine Art Photography

The end of January brought about some exciting news! One of my very favorite images was selected to be exhibited in the H2O/Water Exhibition at The Center for Fine Art Photography during the month of May. It is a true honor to have my work included alongside such a range of talented photographers and I couldn't be more thrilled to kick of the new year on such a high note.

Oresman Gallery Exhibit 2015!

Hello! I am so excited to be presenting a new body of work with my friend and co-exhibitor Justine Knight at the Oresman Gallery this month. This year, our exhibit showcases some of our travel photography as well as a few local favorites. Thank you so much to the Oresman Gallery for inviting us back!

For anyone in the area, we will be hosting a casual and kid-friendly reception at the Library this Saturday, January 10th. We hope to see you there!
